ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT

This item for negotiating is something that ensures that Gitxsan have opportunities to pursue economic planning and implementation for a variety of self identified activities. We are in the process of working with our neighbors, the Wet’suwet’en and the Gitanyow, to uncover the potential of a regional tourism plan. As well we are about to embark on a Regional Infrastructure Strategy Project, and this one will involve both native and non-native constituents in our region. We are also interested in working with the Northern Members of the Legislative Assembly of the Province of British Columbia to re-invigorate our local economy.
